WHY SONGWRITING?
The song is for you first.
I once realized I would keep writing songs even if I only ever had an audience of one. Then I realized I already did. Me.
Songwriting gives me a place to tell the truth without needing to fix anything. A place to feel, question, notice, and process the parts of being human that don’t always have somewhere else to go.
But that space doesn’t belong only to “songwriters.” Your life is worth paying attention to. Your questions are worth asking, and your stories are worth exploring.
Creativity gives us a safe place to be vulnerable without judgment. Sometimes we recognize ourselves in someone else’s story. Sometimes we find words for our own. Either way, we make a little more room to understand ourselves and each other.

Hi, I’m Emma.
I make music and stories to connect with others over the universally meaningful and mundane. A lot of life is lived in the in-between. Laundry piles up, plans change, creativity shows up late, and somehow there is still joy hiding there.
My work is about showing up anyway. About choosing love, paying attention, and finding small ways to live creatively right where you are. Not because life is tidy or figured out, but because it is worth engaging with as it is. If my work does anything, I hope it makes you feel a little more hopeful in the day to day and inspires you to create something.
